Morning,

It's all about getting back into the swing of regular Radioskills duties and VQ work now. I had a pretty quiet day yesterday, so today is my first full "normal" day in a month.

It's Friday, and there's a big Coffee Morning event running in the MFR Area so most of the Community action reads are to do with that. There was a big pile to add but I've just finished the urgent ones. You could hit someone with the pile of added presenter reads I've got in front of me.

I've got the Live at 5 Showbiz to do later. Usually I got right into it at after my Monster.FM show, but now I've got the choice of starting it a bit early!

The end of an era.....!

The final Home Run has been broadcast, and surprisingly we all still have our hearing! The Monster FM door may have closed but by no means forever. Its been a long month with near 10 hour days for some but we did it and I think we did it well! Thank you to all those who helped me with features, Interviews, or maybe any advice you might have given me over the last four weeks.

And to you, the listener....thanks for tuning in!

Gavin XXIV

Evening,

Well, the final Sunset@Seven show has just finished and all that's left is Disco Dave's Best of 2011 show. The fact that Monster was finishing only hit me when I hit play on my last song, Ed Sheeran's new single. It's been a very long month in many ways, but a very valuable one too.

I was thinking earlier about the little things I'll miss, such as:

"From the Sky News Centre..." underneath the news bed
The click of the big folder when you go to grab another cue sheet
Looking at your logger sheet to see what songs you're playing that day
Handovers with Amber falling apart
David Campbell's regular My Community emails
Nigel's Facebook comments
and the cheery way the voice-over man went "Tuned into training!"

Top stuff, thanks for listening.

Penultimate day of Monster FM

Monster FM comes to an end tomorrow ( Everyone say, awwwwww...) when the RSL licence ends. Wow, how our trainees have grown in confidence over the month!

There's still a day and a bit to go.....so keep tuned in! We've got great music and craic right to the end. Listen to our 'Best of Monster FM' show at 8pm Wednesday featuring all the best bits from the last month ending with our special song. x

So Long, Farewell...

I'm not really sure what to write today, all I can think about is Monster FM ending soon, and it makes me feel really sad.
For the last month, things have be all over the place, it's been rushed and crazy, falling apart and nearly killing me, but I don't want it to end.
Monster FM is amazing.
I've loved doing my show, even when I've messed things up, or even that time I hiccuped through my entire show.
I can say the same for everyone, when this is over, we'll miss it.
Although there's been times when we've wished it to be over and hated it, even then we were enjoying ourselves.

I'm going to miss Monster FM, we all will.
